Global cell manufacturers supplying or positioning to supply the Indian EV market — covering OEM partnerships, India-specific projects, and direct import relationships. Filter by chemistry to find suppliers for your sourcing needs.
A lithium-ion cell — whether cylindrical or prismatic — is assembled from the same family of core components. Only the housing and the way the electrodes are packaged differ. This tracker follows the commodity inputs behind those components, so you can see which parts of cell cost actually move with markets.
Of the ~9 core component families, the three cathode metals (lithium, nickel, cobalt) are tracked here today. Copper foil, aluminium foil, can metal and graphite are LME / benchmark-quotable and on the roadmap. Separator, binder and safety hardware are specialty inputs with no liquid public price benchmark.
| Component | Material / commodity input | Used in | Tracked here? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cathode active material CAM — largest cost share | LFP / NMC / NCA powder → lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese, phosphate | Both formats | ✓ Tracked (Li·Ni·Co) |
| Anode active material | Graphite (natural / synthetic) + emerging silicon | Both formats | ◑ Roadmap |
| Electrolyte | LiPF₆ salt + carbonate solvents | Both formats | ◑ Indirect (Li-linked) |
| Cathode current collector | Aluminium foil | Both formats | ◑ Roadmap (LME Al) |
| Anode current collector | Copper foil | Both formats | ◑ Roadmap (LME Cu) |
| Cell casing / can | Steel (cylindrical) · aluminium (prismatic) | Format-specific | ◑ Roadmap |
| Separator | PP / PE film, often ceramic-coated | Both formats | ✗ No benchmark |
| Binder & conductive additives | PVDF, CMC / SBR, carbon black | Both formats | ✗ No benchmark |
| Safety & connection hardware | Vent, CID, terminals, tabs / busbars | Mainly cylindrical | ✗ No benchmark |
How to read it: cathode metals are the only component group with a live / manual feed in this tool today — and also the single largest cost driver, which is why cell prices track lithium, nickel and cobalt so closely. The roadmap group is quotable on the LME or benchmark indices and can be wired in; the “no benchmark” group is priced through private supplier contracts.
